WHY ALWAYS LAGOS! SUDDENLY COLLAPSED BUILDING CLAIMS LIFE, MANY INJURED... SEE WHERE AND HOW IT HAPPENED

Not more than two weeks ago, a 5-storey building collapsed and ended close to 35 lives in Lekki Gardens, Okusenla Road, Ikate – Elegushi, in Eti-Osa Local Government of Lagos state. While the memory of that great tragedy is still fresh in Lagos, another building partly collapsed in Mile 12 area of the state, the scene of the recent riot, claiming the life of a 47-year-old woman with many others seriously injured.

The building which is located at No. 9, Alli Close, Mile 12, is reported to have partially cracked in the wall but the residents would not evacuate the building until it claimed their lives and got them injured around 8.45am yesterday.

However, it was gathered that the deceased died on the way as sympathizers were rushing her to a nearby Hospital and Mr. Micheal Akindele, the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, confirmed the tragic incident and assured that investigation would be conducted to determine the immediate and remote cause(s) of the collapse.

Besides the owner of the collapsed building has been invited the state Secretariat, Alausa, for questioning.
